Good morning friends! I hope your bellies are full of turkey and pie and that you’ve had a relaxing weekend – unless, of course, you decided to venture into ordeal known as Black Friday.Chelsea and I, armed with our credit cards and cameras, hit up Target at 5:00 am. It was packed, but with some strategic planning and quick thinking we were able to nab almost everything on our list – namely DVDs, box sets, and a mini slow cooker. The real trick is that the bargains are spread throughout the store, and aren’t necessarily where you think they’d be!
Next we hit up Wal-Mart – which was a nightmare! I have never seen such chaos before. Lines were literally weaving all the way around the perimeter of the store, and did not appear to be moving. Seriously, each cart had at least one LCD TV in it! We bailed immediately (only to pay a visit to a more low-key Wal-Mart a bit later).
Lastly, we made our way to Kohl's. Chelsea was in search of a new coat, and saved over $100!
Here is most of our loot (presents omitted to ensure a happy holiday surprise):
The best buys were:
DVD Box Sets @ $12.99 (Gossip Girl, The Office, 30 Rock, Chuck) - These will keep me entertained while all of my favorite shows are on hiatus in the cold winter months!
Jersey Scarves @ $5 – these are super cute, comfy, and machine washable!
Mini Slow Cooker @ $3 – great for entertaining. It's perfect for hot dips!
Red Wool Coat @ $80
Pet Snuggie – Chelsea would say “priceless”
Overall, Chelsea and I saved a combined $500 on our bargains!
Now all I really want is a nap. Have a great weekend!
