Wanted: Bulletin Board Update

Here's an easy little project I tacked one summer afternoon. I found this old bulletin board in the basement and thought it’d be the perfect addition to the closet door in the kitchen.I gathered a bunch of supplies I already had on hand, including some craft paint, a foam brush, fabric remnants (from my kitchen curtains), and some vintage rickrack.

I painted the trim of the bulletin board with a dry foam brush and it actually has a whitewash effect.

I stapled the fabric and the rickrack to the board, and hung with a cute ribbon. I’ll admit, the ribbon might be a bit mush with the rickrack, but I like it and that’s all that really matters, right?

I use the board to hang cards, calendars, and pictures. It’s very handy since I am currently going through a phase where I don’t want anything hanging on the fridge, and the closet is fairly out of the way– parfait!
Do you have any quirky phases going on, or am I the only one with these neurotic tendencies?
