Wanted: As Seen On…SATC

As promised, I am introducing a brand-spankin’-new feature today! In As Seen On… I will highlight wanted items from both the big and small screens. This really is the perfect feature – since it combines my love for entertainment with my love for, well, coveting things.

In the first installment we are going to take a look at Carrie Bradshaw’s made-over apartment in the first Sex and the City film (good timing since the sequel hits your local megaplex this week, eh?).



Let’s start off with how amazing that color is. After I saw the movie I probably spent a whole week trying to locate the color, or a suitable substitute. I ended up settling on a much subtler hue for my own home, but hers is gorgeous!



I love how the apartment is girly and fun, but still looks like a grown-up lives there. I struggle with finding this balance myself. I think the key in Carrie’s place is pairing vibrant colors and prints (like the plum rug) with sophisticated pieces like the Lucite bench or the mirrored vanity.



Carrie exudes style and confidence in everything she does, so perhaps the true success in her apartment is in fearlessly making bold choices.

PS – I ran across a sneak-peek image of Carrie’s new place in the sequel and it looks even more glam and sophisticated (but maybe not quite as vibrant and playful). Are you looking forward to seeing Carrie and her gal-pals back in action?
