Wanted: Autumnal Activities

Halloween has come and gone, leaves are piled in my driveway, and there is a distinct bite in the air. I think it is safe to say that fall is officially here. I love the start of every season. There is always something new and exciting to do! For me, fall brings a change of colors, cozy blankets on every chair, and belly-warming food.

A recent trip to the orchard yielded not only the world’s most perfect (albeit unnecessarily large) pumpkin, but a small crop of scrumptious apples as well. How do you turn an already scrumptious apple into something even more delicious? You turn it into pie!





This was my second pie from this year’s apple crop. It’s not the most beautiful thing, but you better believe it is tasty. The recipe came from the adorable book Sweetie Pies by Patty Pinner, which was given to me during my Waitress pie obsession phase. It has proved invaluable.
