Wanted: Gray Upholstery

I have a pair of these peach wingback chairs that are hand-me-downs from my mother. Snazzy, right?
I love the chairs. They are comfy, the perfect size, and in good shape. I’m just not feeling the peach. I think with a quality upholstery job and the perfect fabric, these chairs could last another lifetime. I considered white, or a very subtle pattern (like the ticking on the loveseat in this apartment – fantastic!) since I wanted something that would stand the test of time and could easily be transferred from room to room if my tastes changed.
Lately, however, I’ve seen some great gray upholstery making the rounds and I’m digging it. There is a wide range of tone in gray, and I think it looks sophisticated and cozy all at the same time. Plus, it would be much easier to keep clean than white (which I would probably dump a pot of spaghetti sauce on within the first week of ownership).

What do you think? Is gray the way to go?

Oooooh those chairs would be FABULOUS in grey! Of course, I am biased because grey is my favorite color...but still! It's neutral and oh-so-chic...I say go with grey! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice! The more I think about it the more I want them re-done...now to find a quality reupholster-er on the cheap.
