Hi friends! I hope you had a swell weekend!

I read this article today on CNN. Mexico City has followed the lead of San Francisco in adopting a ban against plastic bags. Now is the perfect time for me to tell you how much I detest said plastic bags. Chalk it up to a summer reading about all the terrible things I’m doing to the planet, but I’ve sworn them off and have coached friends and family to do the same. Tell me it isn’t terrifying when you read statistics like 90% of plastic bags used in the US aren’t recycled. Yikes! So, I commend you Mexico City – well done!

I’ve been wanting some of these reusable bags for awhile now. They fold up neatly in a little pouch so you can keep them anywhere – your purse, glove compartment, at work, etc. Did I mention they come in about a million colors and patterns? How chic! I have a similar “generic” bag and love it. Of course, my love affair with tote bags renders these beauties a frill rather than necessity, but a girl can dream. What do you think?
