Wanted: Outdoor Living Re-do

You may remember Chelsea from her cunningly executed Dharma beer. Now she’s back to share some strides she’s taken to make her outdoor living space a little more, well, livable. She’s lucky to have such a space in the heart of DC, and she often plays host to a slew of friends looking for summer fun. Without further ado…Outdoor living spaces can be few and far between when you live in a big city. Fortunately, I lucked out and found an apartment with a great patio space, which has been the site of several BBQs over the years.

But being a busy modern career lady, I didn't have the time to grow that flower garden I wanted or throw as many outdoor parties as I should have. I guess you could say that I never fully utilized the patio space -- but that's going to change.

The exceptionally warm spring weather was the perfect excuse to host my first outdoor party of the season, but the patio was in need of some TLC. Step one: replace the old picnic table with new outdoor furniture.

After a trip to Target and Home Depot, I had a new table and chairs, which will be great for lounging in on warm summer nights. I even bought a few flowers to plant for a container garden. My friends loved the new space and I can't wait to have my next party.

I still have some more work to do, like figure out what to do with the space under the stairs, but the patio makeover is off to a great start. Who is ready for some beer and burgers?
Thanks for sharing, Chelsea!
